Agility: Just for the fun of it!
We offer non-competitive agility classes. Why non-competitive? Agility is a great
sport, one that can be enjoyed equally by dogs & their owners. But not everyone
has been bit by the competitive bug. We provide an opportunity for you and
your dog to enjoy the sport of agility, without the pressure of entering
competitions.
We teach all skills & equipment exactly the same as if we were training for
competition. This not only promotes safety in the sport, but if you chose to move
onto compete, you will have a solid training foundation established with your
dog. For those clients who would like to move onto the competition level, I will
gladly refer you to several of our excellent trainers (and friends !) in the area.
Obedience & Agility Combo: Level I - This course combines the fun and
excitement of agility with advanced obedience work. Tunnels, jumps, dog walk,
hoop, table and spread jump are taught in this level. On the obedience side, we
will focus on off-leash heeling, hand signals, working from a distance and overall
proofing of the dog's skills around a variety of distractions. Classes run one
evening per week for an hour. 7 week session.
Prerequisite: Novice Foundations class or equivalent training.
Obedience & Agility Combo: Level II
Continuing to build on the skills learned in Level I, handlers will learn to guide
their dogs through fun & challenging courses and sequences. Classes run one
evening per week for an hour. 7 week session
Prerequisite: Obedience & Agility Level I or equivalent training.
Skills Class: Looking to work on a particular skill? We offer private training
sessions designed to focus on a particular skill (jump work, distance, weave or
contact performance).
